The overnight hours got noisy for several parts of the Lakes Region as thunderstorms moved through the region accompanied by strong winds.
According to reports to the National Weather Service, wind gusts of 50 plus MPH occurred in the region knocking down several trees over roadways, including on Highway 248 near Reeds Spring, Highway AA near Galena, along Hideaway Road near Cape Fair, Highway 125 near Rueter, and on Highway 160 near the Taney/Ozark County Line. Areas around Nixa and Seligman also had reports of trees down.
A weather station around Blue Eye near the Missouri/Arkansas Boarder recorded a 54 MPH Wind Gusts during the round of storms.
Showers are still possible in parts of the region today but rain is expected to move out making way for a hot a dry week in the Lakes Region starting on Monday.
