The strongest round of storms this week ripped through the Lakes Region Friday night knocking down numerous trees and limbs and knocking out power.

Reports on damage on the Missouri side of the National Weather Service in Springfield include reports of roof damage to buildings in areas including Cassville, Purdy and Lampe with many trees and limbs down in Branson, Forsyth and Merriam Woods. Several roads were also blocked for a time due to downed trees.  A person was trapped briefly in a home in Cassville when a fallen tree limb blocked a doorway. A police officer was able to move the limb and free the resident who was not reported as injured.

Meanwhile, damage reports in Arkansas to the NWS Offices in Little Rock and Tulsa included several trees and limbs down around Cricket Creek just south of the Missouri-Arkansas Boarder as well as in Duff in Searcy County. In Diamond City, a large tree was uprooted and fell onto a camper and a vehicle.

Other damage reports included Kimberling City Police reporting trees down in their community while Ozarks First reports a boat dock was flipped at State Park Marina along Table Rock Lake. A Kimberling City resident tells Ozarks Dynacom that a house in their neighborhood had a metal roof blown off and into nearby trees and on a roadway with some water damage sustained as well to the house.

All of the area Electric Companies reported numerous power outages with over 1000 people losing power after the storms moved through with crews working into Saturday morning to repair.

As of 8:45 Saturday morning, there are still over 2000 customers in the region without power. Branson Police and Fire report to White River Valley Electric that a pole was blown down on Highway 165 that caused an outage in that area plus blocked the highway.
