The Taney County Health Department (TCHD) is thrilled to celebrate National Public Health Week from April 7-13, 2025! This week is a time to shine a spotlight on the vital work to protect the health and wellbeing of our community. TCHD’s values—caring, serving, and protecting Taney County—are the foundation of every action taken by the devoted staff.

Looking back on 2024, the following highlights showcase the tremendous care and services provided to the Taney County community throughout the year. The numbers speak for themselves:
• 16,967 women, infants, and children served through the WIC nutrition program, ensuring healthy beginnings for families.

• 188 women received essential health services through our women’s health programs, fostering wellness at every stage of life.

• 25 families educated on car seat safety, with 38 car seats distributed, keeping our youngest residents safe on the road.

• 1,000+ individuals trained in suicide prevention through QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer), empowering our community to make a difference.

• 908 doses of Narcan distributed since 2022, helping to save lives and combat the opioid crisis.

• 1,856 health inspections completed, ensuring our local businesses provide a safe environment for all.

• 576 water samples tested for safety, providing peace of mind to families across Taney County.

“Good community health often starts with your local public health department” says Lisa Marshall, Taney County Health Department Director. “Our dedicated team works behind the scenes to keep Taney County healthy and safe. We are proud of our work every day, but especially so during National Public Health Week.”

Moving forward TCHD remains steadfast in preventing disease, improving quality of life, and working alongside the community to create a healthier tomorrow.
