Taney County Traffic Crash Leaves One Dead, One Arrested

A single vehicle crash in Rockaway Beach late Saturday night leaves one person dead with another person arrested after fleeing the scene.

The Traffic Crash Report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates the accident around 10:00 pm Saturday on Highway EE when a car overturned ejected both people in the vehicle. The driver of the car fled the scene while a passenger, 54-year-old Edward Cummins of Forsyth, was pronounced dead at the scene when first responders arrived. 

On Sunday evening, the Highway Patrol issued an arrest report on 24-year-old Timothy Hood of Springfield, who was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and abandonment of a corpse. Hood is currently being held on a 24-hour hold at the Taney County Jail in Forsyth.
