First Responders deliver a baby in a rural area of the Lakes Region.

According to a release from the Taney County  Ambulance District, Paramedics were called to a  residence in the eastern part of the county last Friday morning for a woman in labor. Central Taney County Firefighters also responded to the scene and assisted TCAD Paramedics in delivering the baby when it was determined they could not make the 20 mile trip back to Cox Medical Center Branson in time for the delivery.

The baby girl, Elaine Mudgett, and her mom were taken to Cox after the delivery and were discharged a couple of days later in good health.
