The Taney County Health Department announces their Public Health Champion honoree.
Ben Bonner of the Branson Fire Department received the honor last week. The complete release from the health department is below:
The Taney County Health Department (TCHD) is proud to present Ben Bonner with the 2022 Public Health Champion Award. TCHD staff annually nominate an individual or community partner that has made a difference in public health over the previous year. The Public Health Champion Award is presented annually as part of Public Health Week, which is celebrated the first full week of April.
This year’s nomination reads:
“Ben has worked with TCHD throughout the duration of the pandemic and continues to be one of our biggest advocates. Ben reached out early in the pandemic to offer support and assistance in anyway possible. He has co-led the pandemic taskforce and been an incredible asset in helping set up logistics for mass testing and vaccine clinics. He has promoted TCHD efforts for the past two years through his organization (City of Branson Emergency Management) and the community. His role in Emergency Response has also been vital in linking the TCHD team to resources and other agencies that have benefitted our pandemic efforts. Ben is an example of true partnership and continually supports public health and TCHD efforts.”
Criteria for the award include individuals or organizations that set an example to lead public health efforts, collaborate with other organizations, educate, and promote the wellbeing of residents, and use creative solutions to benefit all residents.
