A Lakes Area Contractor with many accusations and lawsuits filed against him pleads guilty to criminal charges.
According to court documents, Eddie Brian Sides of Branson entered the guilty plea last week in Texas County Circuit Court to stealing and deceptive business practices charges, admitting to taking nearly $50,000 from a person to install a solar panel system in 2022 but never doing the work or repaying the money to the victim.
Sides was sentenced to five-years probation on and order to pay restitution to the victim during his probationary period.
Sides is facing more criminal charges in Taney County. According to court documents, Sides is charged with deceptive business practices and financial exploitation of an elderly or disabled person for another case of collecting money and promising services to a victim but not providing those services or a refund of money. Sides is scheduled to appear in Taney County Circuit Court on February 25.
Sides has faced many complaints in Civil Court dating all the way back to the Joplin Tornado of 2011 when he was accused of promising to help victims of the tornado repair roofs but never doing so. Sides also had a judgement issued against him last year after Sides and his wife entered into a partnership with another couple to buy the Whispering Oaks RV Park near Mountain Home, only to misappropriated assets belonging to the park development to benefit themselves.
