A ceremony is held in the Lakes Region to signal the beginning of a high-speed fiber internet project.
White River Connect, a subsidiary of White River Valley Electric Cooperative, held the ceremonial event last week at the College of the Ozarks Hog Farm in Hollister.
Construction of the over 4,200-mile fiber project is staring in rural areas around Branson as well as in south central Douglas County. ITG Communications is the general contractor for the project that when completed in five years, will provide high-speed internet to the rural areas of Christian, Douglas, Ozark, Stone, and Taney Counties.
