An update on Winter Storm Kingston moving through the Lakes Region.
Winter Storm Warnings remain in place for the Lakes Region until early Wednesday morning. Snow fall predictions now indicate most of the region will see 8 to 10 inches of snow with some localized higher amounts around snow bands. Snow is expected to end late tonight.
A combination of Cold Weather Advisories and Cold Weather Warning go into effect this evening and will last through Thursday morning. Wind Chill readings from 10 to 20 below zero are possible over the period with air temperatures only in the teens for highs and at or below zero for lows.
Roads remained covered throughout the region with road crews keeping major roads plowed with challenges due to blowing and drifting snow.
Branson Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director Ted Martin, during a special Tuesday afternoon interview on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program said that people should plan on staying off the roads as much as possible, especially the hours after the snow ends so road crews can work to get the roads cleared.
