Write-in votes decided several races in the lakes region.
Last week, Taney County Clerk Stephanie Spencer released the write-in vote results which decided a position on an area school board as well several positions in a city.
The Bradleyville School District had one name on the ballot, Rodney Swift, but two positions on the board open. Jackie Adams received the most write-in votes and will join Swift on the Bradleyville Board of Education.
In Merriam Woods, several spots were decided by write-in votes, including the Mayor's position, which went to David Casaletto. Also, Joshua Farrington was the write-in winner for Ward 1 Alderman.
In Ward 2, two candidates were on the ballot for two seats, however a write-in candidate garnered more votes than one of the candidates on the ballot. Barbara Durham got the most votes in the race but write-in Michael Thomas edged out Terri Conner for the second spot.
In Ward 3, to write-ins, Peggy Fischer and Rhonda Shelton, got the most votes for the two seats out distancing three other candidates, including Rebecka Gillen, who was on the ballot.
One other community also had a write-in winner as in Rockaway Beach, Matt Dieckhaus was the winner for the Ward 2 Alderman Seat.
