Area Individuals Advance in Track and Field Competition

Track and Field Postseason meets took place in many locations across Missouri on Saturday including in the Lakes Region.

The Branson Track Teams made their way to Carthage for Class 5 Districts and qualified several individuals to move on to next week's Sectional Meet which included a pair of District Champions, Allison Thomas in the Girls Javelin and Kyshin Isringhausen in the Boys Pole Vault. The complete list of qualifiers for next week's Sectional Meet are listed at the end of this story. 

Meanwhile, Hollister High School hosted both Class 3 and 4 District Meets. Hollister's Katherine Schaefer earned a pair of Class 3 District Championships in the Girls 800 and 1600 Meter Runs.

In Class 4,  Kaylee Geniuk  of Reeds Spring claimed the 100 Meter Hurdles District Title, won of four events she qualified in for next week's Sectional Meet.

The top four finishers in each event move on to Sectionals. 

Meanwhile, area Class 1 and 2 Athletes were in Point Lookout for the Sectional Meet hosted by School of the Ozarks.

The host Patriots claimed an individual Sectional Champion with John Carswell in the Boys Pole Vault. Blue Eye also claimed a Sectional Championship with Houston Parker in the Boys 800 Meter Run. Several other schools also had Sectional Champions with the top four athletes in each event moving on to the State Meet in Jefferson City.
