The College of the Ozarks Bobcats have lived up to their number two seed in the NCCAA Regional Baseball Tournament with two impressive wins.

More information below from the C of O Sports Information Department followed by an update on the entire tournament:

Coming off a dominating opening round win over Dallas Christian College, 19-4, the College of the Ozarks Baseball Bobcats looked to continue their momentum into day two of the NCCAA NDAG Regional Tournament. Turning their attention to the third seeded Randall University Saints, the Bobcats felt good about their chances, having swept a four-game series in Moore, Oklahoma earlier in the season.

Tyler Buchanan took the hill for the Bobcats looking to pick up where Rhett Hill left off the day before. Pitching around a two out walk, Buchanan made quick work of the Saints in the first and the Bobcats came to the plate. The Bobcats wasted no time getting the offense started. Chuck Hill led off with a single and Ryan Daggs drilled a two-run shot over the left field fence for the early lead. Spencer Greene ripped a double to right center then moved to third on a wild pitch. Another wild pitch brought him home and the Bobcats were up 3-0. A one out walk to Rhett Hill kept things moving and Cadan Kauffman reached on a fielder’s choice. Trey Riley smacked a double to right center to add an RBI and Isaiah Smith followed with a single. A fly ball out ended the inning and the Bobcats led 5-0 after one. Neither team produced offence in the second and Buchanan continued to cruise through the third. Another offensive outburst came in the Bobcat half of the third with a pair of singles followed by a homerun by Trey Riley. A two out single by Chuck Hill kept the inning alive and Ryan Daggs hammered his second homer of the game to give the Bobcats a 10-0 lead heading to the fourth. The Saints picked up their first hit of the game in the fourth, but Buchanan stranded the runner and kept Randall off the board. The Bobcats added another run in the bottom of the inning with a Caleb Johnson walk. Johnson moved around the base paths and scored on a Cadan Kauffman double to give the Bobcats an 11-0 lead going to the fifth. Buchanan threw up another zero on the Randall side of the score board and the Bobcats came up looking for more. Chuck Hill was hit by a pitch to start the inning and Ryan Daggs singled. A walk to Spencer Greene followed and Caleb Johnson reached on an error. Titus Atkins singled and when the dust settled, the Bobcats had added three more runs and took a 14-0 lead to the sixth. Ben Meyer came on to pitch in relief and continued what Buchanan started. A quick inning with no runs scoring resulted and the Bobcats came back to the plate. A pair of walks and an Isaiah smith led to another two runs and the game moved to the seventh with a score of 16-0. Meyer pitched around a one out walk to finish the game and the Bobcats took the contest 16-0.

Tyler Buchanan took the win on the mound and Ryan Daggs led the offense with a pair of homeruns and a single. Chuck Hill, Titus Atkins, and Trey Riley (HR) each added a pair of hits and Spencer Greene, Rhett Hill, and Cadan Kauffman each added one hit.
