The College of the Ozarks Volleyball Team continues strong conference run.

Details of their win on Saturday are below from C of O Sports Information:

As part of family weekend at College of the Ozarks, the Lady Cats hosted the Langston University Lions following a victory against the Tigers of Central Christian College on Friday evening.

A Bailey Chamberlain kill got the Lady Cats rolling in set one, and Bri Linehan joined in on the fun with a kill of her own to take the 2-0 lead. After a Lions point, the Lady Cats scored four straight, highlighted by a Bri Linehan kill, an Anna Howe ace, and a Bailey Chamberlain block. As the Lions pulled themselves back into the set, a Brooklyn Crawford kill kept the Lady Cats ahead at 8-4. Crawford recorded another kill as the Lady Cats hoped to extend their lead. The Lions, however, kept themselves in contention, down three until Crawford and Bailey Chamberlain recorded kills to give the Lady Cats the 12-7 lead, forcing a Lions timeout. A Bailey Chamberlain kill and an Abby Chadwell ace added to the lead, and the Lady Cats were not done with their scoring streak. Chamberlain added another kill, followed by one from Bri Linehan, leading the Lions to take their last timeout as the Lady Cats led 17-8. Out of the timeout, the Lions scored one, but Bri Linehan did not let them gain any momentum as she quickly responded with a kill. Bailey Chamberlain continued her success in the set with another kill to put the Lady Cats up 19-10. Christa Duffel tacked on a kill to take the double-digit lead, and the Lady Cats looked to put it away, now up 21-11. A block by Brooklyn Crawford and Christa Duffel ran the Lady Cats score up to 23-11. A Brooklyn Crawford kill took the Lady Cats to set point, and a Lions service error ended the set as the Lady Cats won 25-13.

After a 4-0 run by the Lady Cats to start the set, the Lions called a timeout to try to regroup. A Mica Chadwell ace extended the Lady Cat lead to 10-3 and the Lions took their last timeout. Two more back-to-back Mica Chadwell aces took the lead to 12-3, and a Bri Linehan kill followed by another Mica Chadwell ace extended the lead even further. A Brooklyn Crawford kill gave the Lady Cats a 17-6 lead and a Sophie Morris kill put the Lady Cats up 20-8. Kills by Bailey Chamberlain and Christa Duffel extended the lead to 22-8 before the Lions put together a scoring run to reduce their deficit to 12-22. A Lions attack error put the Lady Cats back in the scoring column and a Bri Linehan kill followed by a Mica Chadwell kill gave the Lady Cats the set two win, 25-12.

The Lady Cats were looking for the sweep, but the Lions came out with 4 straight to start the set. An Emma Godwin kill put the Lady Cats on the board and the Lady Cats had work to do. After a Lions service error, the Lady Cats were down 2-6 and looking to bring themselves back into the set, but the Lions answered with two kills. A Bailey Chamberlain kill and three consecutive Mica Chadwell aces brought the Lady Cats to within two. A Bri Linehan kill kept the Lady Cats close at 7-10, and kills by Brooklyn Crawford and Sophie Morris cut the deficit to three. After another Sophie Morris kill, the Lady Cats were down 10-14, and a Bri Linehan kill and Anna Howe ace put the Lady Cats to within two. Another Linehan kill and a setting error by the Lions tied the score at 14-14, as the Lions called their first timeout. Another Linehan kill out of the timeout gave the Lady Cats their first lead of the third set. An Anna Howe ace and a Bri Linehan kill extended the lead to 18-15 and the momentum was clearly on the side of the Lady Cats. Linehan continued to dominate with another kill, but the Lions responded to keep the score close, 17-19. A Christa Duffel kill brought the Lady Cats closer to match point and a Sophie Morris kill gave the Lady Cats the 21-17 lead. The Lions were putting up a fight, however, and scored three straight. With the Lady Cats up 22-20, Brooklyn Crawford recorded a kill, but a Lady Cats service error kept the score close. A Lions service error gave the Lady Cats the 24-21 advantage, and they finished off the match with a Bailey Chamberlain kill.

Bri Linehan led the team with 13 kills and Bailey Chamberlain followed with 11. Brooklyn Crawford added seven kills. Abby Chadwell recorded 25 assists and Maddie Michel provided 12. The Chadwell sisters led the team in digs, Mica recording 16 and Abby recording 10.

The Lady Cats will travel to Oklahoma next weekend to face Southwest Christian University and Oklahoma City University on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
