A new rivalry game was born with the first every football match-up between Forsyth and Hollister.
With Hollister along with Reeds Spring now joining Forsyth in the Mid-Lakes Conference, the Panthers will have at least one annual match-up with the Tigers and the Wolves with Forsyth playing the first of those games hosting Hollister on Friday and defeating the Tigers 36-14.
After stopping the Tigers after a long drive to start the game, the Panthers jumped out to a 22-0 first half lead on touchdown runs by Braxton Gross, Tamarkus Holmes, and one by Rollie Fisher before the Tigers scored on a 60 plus yard run by KK Conway. Holmes answered with a touchdown run in the final minute of the first half to get the Panthers to a 30-7 halftime score. Neither team scored in the third quarter before each team notched a score in the final period.
Forsyth goes to 2-1 with the win while Hollister drops to 1-2.
Another first time match-up happened in Reeds Spring as the Wolves took on the Clever Blue Jays with the Wolves able to notch the 26-14 win. The Wolves scored the first 20 points of the ballgame and held on from their as both teams are 2-1 for the season.
The first ever Ozark Mountain Conference Football Contest for the Branson Pirates was a successful one as they rolled to a 35-0 win at Bolivar. Quarterback Luke McCormick had a hand in all five scores, running for three and throwing two touchdown passes to Teagan Asbury as the Pirates remain perfect on the season.
Meanwhile, the Harrison Goblins came up short in their quest for win number one on the season, as the Goblins could hold a first half 19 point lead and dropped the 35-32 decision at Searcy.
