Friday the 13th Football: Road Wins for Pirates, Goblins, Wolves

Friday's High School Football included big road wins for several teams.

Branson 35 Ozark 7
The Pirates used ball control to build a 21-0 halftime lead then overcame a rough third quarter to claim the win over the Tigers. Quarterback Luke McCormick ran for three touchdowns and Gage Depee, who played at Ozark last season for his dad Chad Depee who is now a Branson assistant coach, ran for two scores. The Pirates go to 4-4 for the season, the best record for the program this late in the season since 2013.

Harrison 39 Alma 35
The Goblins rally from a 10 point fourth quarter deficit to pin the first 5A West Conference loss on the Airedales.  Mason Ketterman threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, the last a 38 yarder in the final minute after the Goblins recovered a fumble. The Goblins go to 4-3 for the season.

Reeds Spring 17 Rogersville 13
The Wolves and the Wildcats went back and forth all game before the Wolves took the lead for good with a touchdown by Blandy Burall with three and a half minutes to go. The Wolves intercept a pass on the next drive then run the clock out for the win, which pushes the Wolves to 6-2 for the season.

For two other area schools, the night was not as good as Butler spoils the homecoming game for Forsyth, defeating the Panthers 60-43 while a match-up of winless teams sees Springfield Catholic defeat Hollister 18-7.
