The Galena Lady Bears finish fourth in the Class 1 State Volleyball Tournament in Cape Girardeau.
The Lady Bears, after early round State Tournaments wins at home against Thomas Jefferson and Jasper, finished losing two matches in straight sets to Advance in the semifinals Friday and Northwest Hughsville in the third place match Saturday. The Lady Bears finish the season with a 35-3-1.
Meanwhile, a southwest Missouri High School did claim a State Volleyball Title as the Fair Grove Lady Eagles beat Hermann in five games Saturday to take the Class 2 State Championship. Fair Grove, who competes in the Mid-Lakes Conference with Forsyth, finishes their season 35-1-2 with their only loss coming to Webb City in the finals of the Willard Tournament.
