It was the bigger schools in Missouri taking part in District Track Meets Saturday while smaller schools were in Sectional Meets.
While not winning any individual titles, enough Branson Lady Pirates placed high in their events to take an over second place team finish in the Class 5 Meet at Carl Junction. The Lady Pirates took second place in six events to help grab the team second place plaque. Meanwhile, the Branson Boys finished fourth as a team but did take on District Championships in four events. Two of those first place finishes were by Colsen Conway in the 110 and 300 Meter Hurdles. Will Thornton took first in the 400 Meter Run while Thornton and Conway joined Matthew Cod and Adrian Manderson on the winning Boys 4 x 400 Meter Relay team.
Track athletes from the Lakes Region also picked up Individual First Place finishes in the Class 3 District meet in Lamar.
From Hollister on the girls side, Emily Young takes home championships in the 100 Meter Dash along with the Long and Triple Jumps with Katherine Schaefer finishing first in the 800 and1600 Meter Runs. On the boys side, Tristen Parker takes first in the 100, 200, and 400 Meter Dashes and the Long Jump with Silas Woodbury also grabbing first in the High Jump.
Reeds Spring got a first place finish from Preston Blubaugh in the Triple Jump.
For smaller schools, Sectional Track meets took place including at School of the Ozarks. Blue Eye qualified several athletes for state including first place finishes in four events.
