High School Baseball on MOARK Sports Tuesday saw Branson pull out an extra inning win while Forsyth and Reeds Spring both lose.
In Carthage, Branson and the home standing Tigers each had opportunities to win the game in seven innings with both teams leaving runners on in scoring position several times. The Pirates left the bases loaded three times in the first seven innings with the Tigers doing so in the bottom of the seventh with one out with the Pirates coming up with the big outs to preserve a 2-2 tie. The Pirates finally got control of the game in the ninth as 10 batters came to the plate and the Pirates notched four runs in securing the 6-2 win. Kaleb Verjaska's RBI groundout and Rylan Cornelison's two RBI double were the big blows in the inning. The Pirates, after having lost seven straight, now pick-up their second straight win going to 14-12 for the season.
Meanwhile, the eight game winning streak of the Forsyth Panthers is snapped Tuesday as they drop a 6-2 decision to visiting Galena. The Panthers fall to 14-5 while the Bears raise their record to 15-4 with the win. Also Tuesday, Reeds Spring falls at Springfield Catholic 4-0.
