During the year, MOARK Sports will put the spotlight on an area team to update their season and what is ahead.
The Branson Lady Pirate Softball team is 5-2 entering today's Central Ozark Conference Opener on the road at Ozark. The Lady Pirates have already won games against district opponents Glendale and Hillcrest and have split against a pair of COC Teams beating Carl Junction but losing to Joplin in the recent Aurora Tournament. The Lady Pirates will have a chance to avenge the Joplin loss as they host the Lady Eagles on Thursday for their COC Home Opener. The Lady Pirates also have a home game this Saturday against Lebanon.
In their most recent game, the Lady Pirates pulled away at Rogersville for an 8-2 win. All-State player Sierra Dailey, this year the team's Number One Starter, went six innings for the win while the Lady Pirates capitalized on several Rogersville errors with timely hits to secure the win.
More information on the Lady Pirate team can be found on the Team's Website.
BONUS: The Christian County Headliner recently did a feature on Branson Head Coach Josh McKee and his wife Alexis, who is also a softball assistant coach. That article can be found on the Newspaper's Website.
