Although it appeared that area High School Conference realignments had been completed in September and October, a pair of school districts announce a change that impacts one of the conferences which includes Lakes Area Schools.
On Tuesday, Skyline announced they were leaving the Mid-Lakes Conference and would be joining the Southwest Conference. Immediately after that announcement, the Dallas County School District which includes Buffalo Schools announced they were taking Skyline’s place in the Mid-Lakes.
The Mid-Lakes Conference includes Forsyth with Hollister and Reeds Spring already scheduled to join next year. Forsyth Activities Director Jeff Walls tells MOARK Sports that creates a schedule opening for football next year as the Panthers were scheduled to play Buffalo in Week Two but now the Bison are taking Skyline’s place in the Week Nine Spot.
