Reeds Spring Sports Update: Tennis Takes Second in Forsyth

A runner-up finish in the Forsyth Tennis Tournament was among the highlights for Reeds Spring Athletics the week of April 7.

Reeds Spring High School’s boys tennis team went 2-1 at the Forsyth Tournament. The Wolves defeated Willow Springs 5-1 and New Covenant Academy 6-3, before falling to Forsyth 5-0. That earned RSHS the runner-up trophy.

Earlier in the week, RSHS beat Hillcrest 9-0, lost to Forsyth 9-0, and lost to Lighthouse Christian 9-0. At the Monett Tournament, the duo of Jack Hamilton and Hoyt Gubin placed third in the #1 doubles bracket.

Baseball
The RSHS baseball team beat Crane 12-8 and lost to Bolivar, Strafford, and Clever.

Softball
The Lady Wolves softball team won games against Pleasant Hope and Sparta, but lost to Strafford, Clever, Springfield Catholic, and Forsyth.

Track and Field
Reeds Spring hosted a track and field meet on April 8. The girls team won the overall title.

Emmarae Thompson won the 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. Jenna Adams was second in the 1600-meter run, Allie Johnson was second in high jump, Grace Chastain second in pole vault, and Mariah Holt second in discus.

The boys 4x800-meter relay team placed first.
