The end of the opening weekend of High School Sports in the region saw Branson High School host a volleyball tournament and the final games for Lady Pirate Softball in a tournament.
Branson Invitational Volleyball Tournament
The annual tournament was a kick-off event for many schools, including the host Lady Pirates as well as Lakes Area Schools Cassville, Forsyth, and Reeds Spring.
Branson and Reeds Spring finished in the top half of their pools qualifying for Gold Bracket Play and ended up matching up against each other in the opening round. The Lady Pirates knocked off the Lady Wolves in that match before losing their quarterfinal match to Republic.
Cassville and Forsyth played in the Silver Bracket with the Lady Wildcats losing to Kirkwood in their opening match while the Lady Panthers defeat Summit Christian Academy in their opening match before losing to Lebanon in the quarterfinals.
Republic ends up taking the Gold Bracket Championship while Lebanon grabs the Silver Bracket Title.
Branson Softball at Aurora Tournament
The Lady Pirates end up finishing 3-2 in the Aurora Kick-Off Tournament. After splitting two games on Friday, the Lady Pirates defeat Carl Junction and Aurora before losing to Joplin to wrap-up tournament play.
The Lady Pirates will host Glendale Monday in a game that can be heard on MOARK Sports Dot Com.
