The Branson Lady Pirates and Reeds Spring Lady Wolves open District Softball action today.
For the Lady Pirates, they will be looking for their first postseason win since 2017 when the play Hillcrest in the First Round of the Class 4 District at Springfield Glendale. Branson, the tournament's second seed, owns two victories of the Lady Hornets this season but the last one in September at the Branson Tournament was a one run come from behind win. Two Lady Pirates will be trying to break records as Sierra Dailey, who became the career hit leader last week, will try to break Cat Ford's single season hit record. Currently, Dailey is one hit behind Ford's mark of 51. Meanwhile Sadie Lampe, after home runs in each of the Lady Pirates final two games Saturday in Bolivar, will look to break the single season home run record. She is currently tied with Emily Adams at six homers.
Meanwhile, the Reeds Spring Lady Wolves will play Eldon in the opening game of the Class 3 District at Cassville. The Lady Wolves, coming off a two win season in 2021, are the fourth seed in the field of eight teams and looking for their first district win since 2020.
The Branson-Hillcrest Game is scheduled to start around 5:00 while the Reeds Spring-Eldon contest is slated to begin around 5:30. Both games can be heard on the school's respective sites at MOARK Sports.com.
