Barbara Helen “Meemz” Andrews, age 88, of Cassville, Missouri.

Barbara Helen “Meemz” Andrews, age 88, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Cox Hospital in Monett, Missouri.

Born on May 2, 1936, in Carthage, Missouri, Barbara was the daughter of Clifford and Thelma (Scantlin) Pace. On October 5, 1956, she married Jerry Andrews in Tulsa, Oklahoma, who survives her. Barbara leaves behind a loving family, including her five children: Cindy Steinmetz and her husband Mark of Pineville, Louisiana; Joanie Winborne and her husband Steve of Clinton, Mississippi; Chris Andrews and his wife Dorothy of Valliant, Oklahoma; Scott Andrews and his wife LisaMarie of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Jennifer Evans and her husband Daron of Springfield, Missouri. Her legacy also includes 12 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and a multitude of great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Barbara was born and raised in Carthage, Missouri. After graduating from Carthage High School in 1954, she then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After starting her family, Barbara dedicated herself to raising her children, returning to nursing once her youngest began school. She served at Doctors Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana; Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and South Barry County Hospital in Cassville, Missouri.

Known affectionately as "Meemaw," Barbara was deeply proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments. She passionately believed in the importance of education and took great joy in seeing many of her grandchildren and their spouses pursue careers in teaching.

Barbara was an active member of First Baptist Church in Cassville, where she cherished her community and faith.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 17, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor James Weaver will conduct the services. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Barbara.
