Carolyn Ruth Charles, age 89, of Cassville, Missouri

          Carolyn Ruth Charles, age 89, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation in Cassville, Missouri.

            She was born March 19, 1934 in Exeter, Missouri the daughter of Joe and Amanda (Montgomery) Jones. On March 19, 1955 in Exeter, Missouri she was united in marriage to Robert Charles, who preceded her in death on January 17, 2017. Also preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers and eight sisters.

            Surviving are one son, Dan Charles and his wife Kim of Bella Vista, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Emma, Miller, A.J. and wife Katie, Julianne and husband Joel Vastbinder, and Danielle and two great grandchildren, Benton and Sawyer.

            Carolyn graduated from Wheaton High School in Wheaton, Missouri in 1952 as Valedictorian of her class later attending Southwest Missouri State University for a short time. In 1953 she moved to Kansas City, Missouri and while living there she worked in the office at Sears, Roebuck and Company. After returning to Exeter in 1971 she was employed by Production Credit Association until going to work for Justin Boot Company as a secretary from where she retired in 1997. Carolyn enjoyed cooking, crocheting and tending flowers.

            Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 13, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Exeter. Pastor Jerry Yarnall and Pastor Donnie Spears will conduct the services. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Missouri.

            The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Friday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

            Contributions may be made to Maplewood Cemetery in memory of Carolyn.
