Charley Allen Brown, age 83 of Forsyth, Missouri
Celebration of life services for Charley Allen Brown, 83 of Forsyth, will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, 11 AM at Church 3:16, Forsyth. Pastor Jeramie Henson will officiate. The burial will be at the Wolf Cemetery, Protem. Services were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel. Mr. Brown went to be with his Lord on September 2, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
Charley Allen Brown was born Aug. 18, 1940, at Cedar Creek, Mo. He was the son of Floyd Austin and Algie Blanche (Macomb) Brown. He attended and graduated from Forsyth High School. Charley served his country in the United States Army, during the Cuban Crisis. He married the love of his life Carolyn Jean Henson on April 23, 1966, at Ocie, Mo. To this union they were blessed with two daughters.
Charley worked for Kraft Foods in Springfield, MO, until his retirement. After retirement he started a business doing lawn care and odd jobs. He enjoyed this very much. Charley was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and attended Church 3:16 in Forsyth.
He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Blanche Brown, and siblings, Glendon Brown, Garline Brown, Eldred Brown, Irene Siliven, Pauline Cardwell and Neva Thomas.
Charley was known for his hard work and kind heart. Spending time with his family is what he enjoyed most in his life. His hobbies included woodworking, camping, garage sales, riding four wheelers, sucker grabbing, and going to the deer woods campsite to spend time with his friends.
Charley was a great family man who loved his family dearly, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn of the home, his two daughters Melanie Smith (Lonnie), Melinda Burkhart (Daniel) all of Forsyth; five grandchildren Cammy Cook (Jess), Macy Hampf, Tanner Smith, Brady Hampf and Trent Hampf; eight great grandchildren Cora, Cash, Ella, Tate, Clara, Kase, Carson, and Callan, he will also be missed by numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 9 at Church 3:16, from 10 AM until service time. In memory of Charley memorials may be sent to Melanie Smith, P.O. Box 743, Forsyth, MO 65653, for his beloved two great granddaughters (Ella & Clara) who have rare diseases to help with their medical bills.
