Danny Joe Poindexter

Danny Joe Poindexter, 65 years old, of Lampe, MO

Danny Joe Poindexter, 65 years old, of Lampe, MO, went home to be in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 8th, 2023, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, MO.

Danny was born on November 21st, 1957, in Corinth, Mississippi and grew up running through the woods of Selmer, Tennessee.  This kickstarted a love of the outdoors that would be shared with others throughout his life.

In 1986, Danny met the love of his life, Debbie, while working at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, MO.  It was love at first site and the love only grew stronger throughout the 37 years.   Danny and Debbie married that same year and brought five wonderful children together into a blended family.

Danny was saved and born again in 1992 at Open Door Full Gospel Church in Pleasant Hill, MO.  He continued to grow in his relationship with Jesus all the way through his final breath.

Danny’s favorite job was being the Head of Maintenance at Dogwood Canyon Nature Reserve, which he did until his passing.  He loved helping everyone at Dogwood and could always be counted on when anyone needed him.

Danny spent his free time fishing for monster bass, tending to his rose garden, performing a ridiculous number of honey-dos (which he loved!), building anything and everything out of wood, cooking for his family (the most amazing fried fish in the world), playing poker with his kids and grandkids, collecting (and then giving away) knives, and providing a silent Godly strength to everyone who loved him.

Danny is survived by his wife, Debbie, sons Troy (Becky) Stanton, Michael Poindexter, and Brett (Brandi) Stanton, daughters Tiffany (Andy) Hoyle and Sheila (Billy) Komm, 13 grandchildren:  Mason (Ashlar), Tyler, Kaylee, Madison, Erin, Lea (Nick), Dallas, Michael, Lily, Adam, Isaac, Nolan and Noah, great-grandchildren, Lachlan and Aurora, mother, Frances and a host of brothers and sisters that all loved him very much.

Services will be held at Stumpff Funeral Home (65 Comfort Lane, Kimberling City, MO 65686) on January 21st, 2023, at 2:00pm and a small reception will be held after at Port of Kimberling Marina and Resort (201 Marina Way, Kimberling City, MO 65686).

Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home Kimberling City, MO.
