Dollie Jean Owens, age 89, of Washburn, Missouri
Jean Owens, age 89, of Washburn, Missouri passed away Friday, January 13, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 23, 1933 in Shell Knob, Missouri the daughter of Truman and Lela (Mikeman) Burbridge. On July 15, 1951 in Republic, Missouri she was united in marriage to the love of her life Kenneth Owens, who preceded her in death on November 20, 1983. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Frankie Henson; one brother, Herbert Burbridge; one sister, Sue Owens Duncan and one infant brother, Truman Olan Burbridge.
Surviving are one daughter, Marva “Jo” Varner and her husband Tim of Washburn, Missouri; one son in-law, Harold Henson of Cassville, Missouri; one brother, Rollie Burbridge and his wife Pat of Harrisburg, Missouri; two sisters, Donna Kay Blankenship of Shell Knob, Missouri and Captola Cowles and her husband Johnny of Shell Knob, Missouri; six grandsons, Jason Varner and his wife Daisy of Washburn, Missouri, Todd Varner and his wife Kady of Washburn, Missouri, Scotty Henson and his wife Emma of Cassville, Missouri, Justin Henson and his wife Wendy of Cassville, Missouri, Steven Henson of Cassville, Missouri and Shannon Henson and his wife Rhonda of Exeter, Missouri; fourteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Dollie lived in the Barry County area her whole life. She received her education at Fairview School in a one-room schoolhouse located near Shell Knob, Missouri. At a young age Dollie was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at Fairview Pentecostal Church. In 1976 she went to work for Fasco Industries in Cassville, Missouri. Dollie worked in the production department for twenty-three years before retiring July 1, 1999. She moved to Cassville, Missouri from Shell Knob, Missouri in 1994. Dollie enjoyed spending time working with flowers and loved cooking for her family and friends.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Brother Terry Bailey and Pastor Karty Burbridge will conduct the services. Burial will be at Fields Cemetery in Shell Knob, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Monday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
