Esther Marie Cole, age 93, of Battlefield, Missouri.

Esther Marie Cole, age 93, of Battlefield, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at her home. 

She was born March 24, 1931 in South Plainfield, New Jersey, the daughter of John and Louise (Orrico) Scarano. On June 27, 1953 she was united in marriage to William H. Cole, who preceded her in death on April 12, 2017. Also preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Gloria Ciminieri. 

Surviving are two sons, Bill Cole of Battlefield, Missouri and Bob Cole and his wife Cassandra of Battlefield, Missouri; one daughter, Patty Henderson and her husband Greg of Monett, Missouri; a half-brother, John Scarano of Oakland, California and two grandsons, Nicholas Cole of Battlefield, Missouri and Zachary Cole of Battlefield, Missouri. 

Esther grew up and attended school in New Brunswick, New Jersey graduating from St. Peters High School. She and her family moved to Cassville in 1973. Esther was employed by Roaring River Restaurant as a hostess and waitress from 1973 until 1998, from where she retired. After retiring she babysat her grandsons, which she loved. She enjoyed reading, cooking, especially her spaghetti sauce which she made from scratch, and she was especially fond of red roses. 

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Father William Hodgson will conduct the services. Burial will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 PM Tuesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus in memory of Esther.
