Franklin Delano “Frank” Edwards, age 88.
Franklin Delano “Frank” Edwards, age 88, parted ways with this world on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 2:42 P.M. He died in his home after a lengthy battle with colon cancer.
He was born May 28, 1936 near Cape Fair, Missouri on James River in Stone County, the son of Charles “Efton” and Bessie (Ray) Edwards. On October 16, 1957 in Jenkins, Missouri he was united in marriage to Ruth Ellen Thomas. Frank and Ruth were married for nearly 67 years. Ruth survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Carolyn Blankenship, and her husband Freddie; two grandsons, Richard Franklin Isley and Hank William Isley; three great grandkids, Kaitlyn Anderson, Hailey Isley, and Hank Isley, Jr.; two great-great-grandkids, Aiden Conner Harrison and Raelynn Cole Harrison; one step granddaughter, Crissy Isley; one brother and five sisters.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother; two sisters and a step-grandson, Cody Blankenship.
Frank went to school at Mt. Zion, Munsey, Eagle Rock, Fairview, and Cassville. He lived most of his life in Barry County. He was a truck driver and drove for a lot of different companies including Farmers CO-OP in Monett for 16 years and hauled live and frozen poultry. Frank worked for Forest Products Incorporated for almost 14 years. He enjoyed riding horses, camping, fishing, throwing horseshoes, playing guitar, singing country music, reading western books and watching western movies. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be missed by those who know him.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 9, 2024 at Mineral Springs Cemetery in Cassville, Missouri. Pastor Paul Wahlert will be conducting the services.
