Gary Gene Goostree

Gary Gene Goostree, age 80, of Rocky Comfort, Missouri.

Gary Gene Goostree, age 80, of Rocky Comfort, Missouri, a cherished husband, dad, grandpa, and great grandpa, finished his race and entered into eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

He was born to Glessnor and Marie (Clanton) Goostree on May 17, 1944, in Wheaton, Missouri. After graduating from Rocky Comfort High School, Gary and the love of his life, Ruth Ann Ellis, were united in marriage and spent nearly 60 years building a life together and seeing their family grow to the fourth generation. Gary was preceded in death by his parents. His legacy will continue through his wife, Ruth Ann, his two sons, Doug Goostree and his wife Becky, and Dan Goostree and his wife Sarah, of Rocky Comfort, Missouri; one brother, Bill Goostree and his wife Susan of Exeter, Missouri; his five grandchildren, Heather Senseney and her husband Joey, Haley Haynes and her husband Kelby, Sean Goostree and his wife Payton, Adison Cantwell and her husband Chase, and Tori Goostree; and his seven great grandchildren, Hannah, Jesse, Kaden, Hallee, Maddox, Collins, and Konrad.

Gary was highly skilled at small engine repair which led to operating his own business in Wheaton and Cassville for several years. He also worked as a mechanic for the Wheaton School District as well as other side jobs throughout the years. He enjoyed serving his community as a board member of the Rocky Comfort Cemetery. Of the many skills Gary possessed, raising cattle, and farming the land was his passion and his favorite place to be.

Gary had known for many years that faith in God was important, and it became a reality in his life 11/10/2024 when he completely surrendered to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. The change in his heart was evident to all who knew him. He not only had faith for himself, but also for others as he would point out those who needed prayer during their hospital visits and join in agreement for their salvation, healing, and provisions. Gary fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.

Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at The Gathering Tabernacle in Rocky Comfort. Pastor Dan Goostree and Pastor Paul Wahlert will conduct the services. Burial will be at Rocky Comfort Cemetery in Rocky Comfort, Missouri.

The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.

Contributions may be made to Rocky Comfort Cemetery in memory of Gary.
