Gary Robert Elrod, age 63, of Rockaway Beach, Missouri.

Gary Robert Elrod, age 63, of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, passed away December 2, 2024, at home with his wife by his side. He entered this life on July 18, 1961, the son of James and Doris (Kees) Elrod in Kansas City, Kansas. Gary was joined in marriage on January 2, 1999, to Loni Elrod.

Gary proudly served our country in the United States Air Force for nearly ten years. During his time dedicated, Gary earned the title of staff sergeant and was awarded with a National Defense Service Medal, an Air Force Achievement Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, and an Air Force Commendation Medal.

With a zest for adventure, Gary loved to travel and go on cruises, especially to tropical destinations. He enjoyed swimming in the ocean, sporting Hawaiian shirts, and reading. Gary was a man of great faith and active member of The Sanctuary of Hope church. Throughout his years, Gary was a wonderful husband, father, encourager, and best friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Gary is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Loni Elrod of Rockaway Beach, Missouri; sons: Joel Michael Elrod and wife, Yolanda of Kansas City, Kansas, and Adam David Elrod and wife, Betty of North Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren: Jadeah, Sincere, and Joel Jr. He is also survived by his parents: James David Elrod and Doris Mae Elrod; brother, Michael Elrod and his wife, Ann; nephews: Ian and Michael Elrod; niece, Caitlin Elrod; and beloved sidekick, Rusty.
