Gerard Blocks, age 67, of Cedarcreek, MO
Gerard Hendrik Marie Blocks, age 67, of Cedarcreek, Missouri, left his earthly home on June 22, 2021, and is now in the arms of the Lord. He entered this life on August 31, 1953, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the son of Jacobus Johannes Blocks and Dina Bernarda Maria (Verhaar) Blocks. He was joined in marriage to Sandra (Daniel) Ullah on June 3, 1998.
Gerard was a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine as well as a scientist who was well known for his work in the global pharmaceutical and veterinary biological industries both in the United States and abroad. During his world travels, Gerard enjoyed experiencing gourmet cuisine and listening to music. He enjoyed reading classic science fiction, watching vintage Clint Eastwood action movies and Monty Python comedies, as well as playing his guitar. Since July 1996, he has been a faithful servant of the Lord and served as a minister with the Sanctuary of Praise Church of God in Christ located in Springfield, Missouri. Gerard faithfully witnessed to many people and distributed Bibles to those willing to listen. As part of his ministry, Gerard worked in home healthcare with The Arc of the Ozarks and as an UBER driver, where he was given the opportunity to share the Good News of the Lord and give bibles to those in need. With an immense love for his family, including his children and grandchildren, his love for his wife was immeasurable. Gerard will be forever cherished and greatly missed by all who knew him, including his beloved cocker spaniel, Bean.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jaap Blocks; sister, Tilleke Blocks; and sister-in-law, Myrna Blocks.
Gerard is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sandra Ullah; son, Brandon Warner (Kim) of Des Moines, Iowa; son, Theo Blocks (Anouck) of Breda, Netherlands; son, Shumms Ullah (Hillary) of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; daughter, Chloé Ullah of Clovis, New Mexico; daughter, Jayce Ullah-Blocks (Gabriel) of Indianapolis, Indiana; and four grandchildren: Briyahn, Viktor, Runa, and Micah. He is also survived by his brothers, sisters, and their spouses: Ad Blocks (Yvonne), Hein Blocks; Ger (Chris) Versfelt, Willy (Jan) Pasman, Jose (Andre) IJsendijk; many nieces and nephews; as well as beloved friends: Jan, Carla, Peter, Joan.
