Gladys Marie Musick Miekley, 81 of Purdy, MO
Gladys Marie Musick Miekley, age 81, of Purdy, Missouri passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
She was born August 5, 1939 in Tuscumbia, Missouri, the daughter of James and Opal (Wyrick) Robinett. On June 1, 1957 she was united in marriage to Curtis Musick who preceded her in death on August 25, 1993. Also preceding her in death were her parents.
On August 5, 1995 she was united in marriage to Eugene “Doc” Miekley, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Jeff Musick and his wife Donna of Purdy, Missouri; two daughters, Vicki Holmes and her husband Greg of Wheaton, Missouri and Stephani Leverich and her husband Tom of Pioneer, Missouri; one stepson, Kevin Miekley and his wife Wendy of Exeter, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Sara Norris of Cassville, Missouri and Rebecca Nickols and her husband Jeff of Rogersville, Missouri; one sister, Judy Patterson and her husband Marvin of Ulman, Missouri; seven grandchildren, six step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
Gladys grew up and received her education in Tuscumbia, Missouri where she graduated from Tuscumbia High School and later attended business college for one year. She was employed by a Christian publishing company as a secretary for two years. She and Curtis also farmed while living in Tuscumbia. They then moved to Versailles, Missouri where he was a fieldman for Kraft Foods and later to Warsaw, Missouri where he was plant manager. In 1972 Kraft Foods transferred them to Wheaton, Missouri. Gladys was a homemaker and throughout Curt’s years with Kraft was his personal secretary and bookkeeper all while over-seeing the family poultry and cattle operation.
Some of her favorite pastimes were traveling to craft fairs with her sister Judy, activities with her grandchildren and taking in Branson shows and restaurants. She was a member of Mill Street Church of Christ.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Tuscumbia, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Minister Charlie Worstell will conduct the services.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Friday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
