Glenna Kay (Young) Martin...
Glenna Kay (Young) Martin was born January 26, 1953, on her daddy's birthday. Glenna was the third of nine children born to Adrian M. Young Sr. and Dorothy O. Dewberry.
Glenna married Bobby Wayne Martin on July 20, 1985, in Harrison, AR. The union of these two beautiful souls gave the best life to four lucky puppies: Miss Scarlet, Boo, Sir D'Walt and Miss Biscuit.
Glenna was feisty and soft-hearted, crying at the drop of a hat. She was kind and stubborn and loved with a passion. She loved children especially but was unable to have her own. She worked for more than 20 years as a teacher’s aide at Woodland Heights Elementary School where her husband Bob worked. The attention given by Bob and Glenna changed many children’s lives. They did everything together and made a great team. She was a caregiver and nurturer to her niece Whitney (Sanders) Bartley and nephew Joshua Burchfield, who she claimed to be her own children. They are better humans because of the love, patience, and guidance given them by Bob and Glenna.
Glenna loved to play cards, especially High 9. She was a sore loser, so she cheated every chance she got! She loved flowers and decorating her yard for all holidays. Glenna loved going places and a good ol’ rocking chair. If she didn't have a rocking chair, she would rock anyway. Her favorite country singer was Blake Shelton, she made the best iced tea and would show up at most family gatherings with her famous "better than whoopie" cake. Glenna made friends easily and was a fierce friend to many. Where she lacked in her ability to do physical things, she made up for in cheering on those who could.
Later in life, Bob and Glenna worked tirelessly to assist in uniting her Arkansas, USA family with a sibling in Wales, Michael (Mike) Adrian Ledsam Young, and his family.
Waiting to meet her on the other side was her husband Bob and three of her puppies: Miss Scarlett, Boo, and Sir D'Walt, her parents, and three brothers: Mike Ledsam Young, Adrian Modean (Jaybo) Young, Jr., and Mark E. Young. Those who remain here to miss her are her "adopted" children Whitney and Joshua, and her siblings Jane Butler (Lee), Chuck Young, Sr., Wayne Young (Teresa), Anna Matlock (Richie), Joe Young (Angie), and Randy Young (Theresa).
