Janet Lee Benson...

Janet Lee Benson, known by her friends and family as Jan, was born September 4, 1946 in Marion, Ohio. Raised in the Mormon faith, her childhood saw her move from Ohio to Utah, California, Arkansas, then to Burbank, California again following her father Wil’s employment. While in Burbank she met Lawrence Ricketts and had her daughter, Alissa. She thereafter married Don Martin in Los Angeles in 1964, and renounced the LDS faith. She moved to Northern California, studying accounting at Golden Gate University, and worked as an accountant in San Francisco and Colorado.

Around 1978, while living in Fort Collins, Colorado, she married Leo Laumann, and spent many happy years as a wife and a stepmother to his twin sons, Larry and Lynn. After Leo’s passing in 2002, Jan retired and moved to Missouri. It was here that she met and married Ron Benson, becoming stepmother to Brad Benson. Her retirement didn’t last long, however, as she began employment at the Branson Tourism Board, working tirelessly to promote the amazing Branson area.

After Ron’s passing, Jan met and married Danny L Goodman on November 24, 2015 in Branson. They were inseparable, crazy about each other, and shared many wonderful times together. Jan enjoyed reading, sewing, watching TV, especially her favorite shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and she loved collecting frogs. She will be especially remembered for her skill at creating beautiful quilts for friends and family, spending countless hours crafting these lovely keepsakes for those she loved.

Jan entered into eternal rest on December 3, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur (Wil) Leslie Holtsberry in 1982 and Ruth Ellen
Holtsberry (nee Baldinger) in 1986, and by her brother, Ronald A. Holtsberry in 2003. She is survived by her deeply loving husband, Danny; by her daughter Alissa Helen LeCrone (nee Holtsberry-Ricketts Dirkson); by grandsons Matthew C. LeCrone, Adam P. LeCrone and Daniel C. LeCrone, all of Orange, California, as well as six Holtsberry nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson, MO.
