Janice (Jan) Elaine Miller (Bowen), age 79, Cassville, Missouri

Our dearly loved wife, mom, mom-in-law, Mimi, sister, aunt, niece and friend ran into the arms of Jesus January 8th, 2023, just one day shy of her 79th birthday.

            Janice (Jan) Elaine Miller (Bowen) was a joy to all she met (even if she just met you for the first time in a restaurant bathroom).  Everyone knew her by her laugh, her love for others, her fun spirit, her hard work, her love of flowers and all things crafty and purple.  She used her talents as a nurse and her joy of crafts to bless others with her undeniable heart to love on others.  But her favorite thing to do was spend time with family and friends whether it was crafting with the grandkids, going on trips with her husband, talking with her kids in person or on the phone, visiting with family or scrapbooking with friends. 

            We are not sure how we are going to go on without her, but we will, knowing she would want us to remember her well and enjoy life the way she did.  She would want you to know that Jesus loves you just like He is loving on her now that she is with Him.

            Janice was born January 9th, 1944 to Rual and Marie (Hardwick) Bowen of Cassville, MO.  She went on to graduate from High School in her hometown in 1962 until she attended Burge Protestant School of Nursing in Springfield, MO and became a registered nurse.  She used her nursing skills in many hospitals over the years, until she retired as a Director of Nursing at the Independence Health Care Nursing Home in Independence, MO. She married her loving husband Dannie (Dan) Miller also of Cassville on September 3rd, 1966.  They have been happily married for 56 years.  They have enjoyed many winters in Winter Haven, Florida and summers in Blue Springs, MO.  They have two children Chris (Sue Ellen) Miller, Stephanie (Jeff) King, and five beautiful grandchildren, Lindsey and Evan Miller and Micah, Josiah and Elisha King.

            She is also survived by her brother and sister in law Don and Carolyn Bowen, her nieces Jennifer (Mark) Shumaker children and grandchildren, Annette (Jeff) Cozort children and grandchildren, and her aunt Shirley Bowen.  She is preceded in death by her parents.

            Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri.
