Jerry Dean Whisenhunt, age 71, of Cassville, Missouri

            Jerry Dean Whisenhunt, age 71, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Friday, December 9, 2022, in Cassville, Missouri.

            He was born October 1, 1951, in Florence, Arizona the son of Herbert and Claudine (Walker) Whisenhunt. On April 16, 1982 in Miami, Oklahoma he was united in marriage to Ida Crawford, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Jerry Whisenhunt and his wife Melissa of Cassville, Missouri; two daughters, Jody Gallardo and her husband Carlos of Butterfield, Missouri, and Jennifer Drake and her husband Joey of Cassville, Missouri; one brother, Fred Whisenhunt and his wife Jean of Cassville, Missouri; two sisters, Linda Carver and her husband Dwayne of Cookeville, Tennessee and Jo Ann Brafford and her husband Bill of Coweta, Oklahoma; four grandchildren Valerie Little and her husband Austin, Zane Gallardo, Alyssa Whisenhunt and Kayla Lowe and two great grandchildren, Bennett Little and Blazi Lowe.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two grandsons, Trace Andrew Drake and Mason Lowe.        

            Jerry attended high school at Clayton High School in Clayton, Oklahoma. After graduation he attended Eastern Oklahoma State in Wilburton, Oklahoma, for a short time before moving to Cassville in 1969. He worked at Hydro Aluminum for 28 years, retiring as a supervisor.

 Jerry enjoyed working on his farm, raising cattle, horses, pigs, and chickens.  He had a great passion for the Oklahoma Sooners and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, but most of all he loved giving people a hard time.

            Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.  Rick Cooper will conduct the services.  Burial will be in Russell Cemetery in Butterfield, Missouri. 

            The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

            Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Jerry.
