Jessie Velmore Turner Jr., 78, of Harrison, Arkansas.

Jessie Velmore Turner Jr., 78, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away at Hospice of the Hills on February 28, 2025. He was born in Newport, Arkansas on July 4, 1946, the son of Jessie and Mable (Westerman) Turner.

Jessie loved going to the casino and playing the slot machines. He enjoyed fishing and watching old westerns. Another past time was spent playing Wizard of Oz Magic Match 3 on his phone. Jessie adored his family and their families. If you saw Jessie pulling up in a vehicle it was probably a red one, he liked all his modes of transportation to be the color red. Jessie liked attending family reunions in Newport, Arkansas, and visiting with family members. His favorite flowers were red tulips.

Jessie is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Glen and James Turner, sister Barbara LeFlore and an infant daughter Shelia Turner. He is survived by his wife Debra Turner, five children Rebecca (Dennis) Manuel, Michelle (Daniel) Turner, Adam Turner, Sophia (Marc) Wilkerson, and Jessie (Jessica) Turner III. Also, Jessie leaves behind 9 grandchildren, Dustin, Brigette, Alexis, Hunter Dakota, Dayton, Kaleigh, Nicholas, Ashlyn and 3 great grandchildren along with numerous other family members and friends. Jessie has 3 living sisters Wanda Dixon, Fair Oaks, Arkansas, Betty (Wes) Osborne, Newport, Arkansas, Sue (Tim) Johnson, Newport, Arkansas and 3 brothers Sammy (Flo) Turner, Albion, Arkansas, Jimmy (Debbie) Turner, from Ohio, and Larry Turner, Searcy, Arkansas.

Jessie will be missed by all that knew and loved him. At this time, a Celebration of Life is not scheduled but the family plans on interring his cremains later at Watson Cemetery in Newport, Arkansas. Date and time will be announced once it has been determined.
