Jim Zander, age 59, of Hollister, Missouri, departed his earthly life on July 21, 2023, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Born on July 6, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois, Jim was truly one of a kind and a pleasure to be around. He was a hard worker who was deeply devoted to his family. Jim will be remembered for his love of golfing, fishing, and spending quality time with his loved ones, particularly his wife, Jeanie who he loved dearly. He worked for McLane Distribution Center in Republic, Missouri.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jeanie Bowen; his daughters: Stephanie and Samantha; his brother and sister-in-law: Rick and Gloria Newton; brother and sister-in-law: John and Dawn Zander; sister and brother-in-law: Jacque and Ed Harnstrom; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Don and Deb Bowen; nephews: Gibson Zander, Anthony Newton, Gavin Harnstrom, Rick Hank, Jeff Hank, Joshua Bowen and Michael Bowen; and nieces: Danielle Newton, Hailey Harnstrom, Kelsey McDaniel, Michelle Minto, Jennifer Johnson, Christy Brennan and Cassie Holler.
He is also survived by many close friends. Jim's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Zander; his godson, Freddy Newton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Dale and Laura Bowen; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Lynda and Charlie Thompson.
A celebration of life for Jim will be held in two locations: Branson Community Center, 201 Compton Drive, Branson, Missouri on August 11, 2023, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., and in Downey, California at a later date. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering and honoring Jim's life and legacy at these gatherings.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Contributions to this organization will help support their important work in the fight against cancer.
Jim's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his hard work, his passion for life, and his unwavering dedication to his family. May he rest in eternal peace.
