JoAnna Kathrine Peters, age 68, Wheaton, Missouri

JoAnna Kathrine Peters, age 68, of Wheaton, Missouri passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 at Mercy Hospital Joplin in Joplin, Missouri.

            She was born January 14, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio the daughter of John W. and Josephine (Tidwell) Carter. On June 15, 1973 in Virginia City, Nevada she was united in marriage to James Peters, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Alyssa Carney and her husband Kore of Wheaton, Missouri and Michelle Wright and her husband Michael of Jefferson City, Missouri; one brother, Theodore Carter and his wife Joyce of Cassville, Missouri; four grandchildren, Brittney Nabors, Mallorie Hamilton and her husband Austin, Trevor Carney and his wife Madison and Zachary Carney and four great-grandchildren, Kaden McCue, Kolstin Hamilton, Chrystella Hamilton and Elliotte Carney.

            Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, John Carter, Steven Carter and Timothy Carter and one sister, Susan Hancock.

            JoAnna attended school in Watsonville, California graduating from Watsonville High School in 1973. She and James moved from Watsonville, California to Wheaton, Missouri in 1992. JoAnna was employed by the Walmart Home Office in Bentonville, Arkansas as a upc coordinator for several years. She was very artistic as she enjoyed painting and drawing. JoAnna loved watching movies, reading romance novels and online shopping but most of all she loved being around her family, especially the grandkids and great-grandkids.

            Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
