Long-time Taney county resident, Johnnie Getman, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the age of 83.
Services will be Saturday, September 3, 2022 in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson. Visitation will be from 4:00-5:00 PM and a celebration of Johnnie’s life following at 5:00 PM.
Johnnie Calvin Getman was born on September 15, 1938 in Walnut Shade, MO to Stephen Curtis Getman & Nellie (Timbrook) Getman. Johnnie attended Spokane schools and after school began his working career with Native Wood Company in Ozark making walnut décor. Johnnie went on to work for Table Rock Asphalt Construction as a skilled heavy equipment operator, and as manager of their gravel plant for several years.
Johnnie married RoseMary Kaneaster on November 25, 1960 in Forsyth. They were blessed with five children whom they raised at their home in Branson. Johnnie was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, coon hunting and deer hunting. He was active with the Table Rock Sportsman Association, Finley River Bass Club and Reeds Spring Saddle Club.
Johnnie passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at the age of 83. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his wife RoseMary; one son, Terry Getman; his parents and twelve siblings including LeRoy Getman, David Getman, Orvil Jones, Chester Jenkins, Fred Getman and sisters Ruby, Tennie, Rosie and Katherine.
Johnnie leaves behind his children, Marilyn Lindsey and Scott of Willard, MO; Barbara Davis and Richard of Chestnut Ridge; Steve and Jenny Getman of Charleston, South Carolina; Larry and Misty Getman of Higginsville and daughter-in-law, Kelly Getman of Rogersville, MO. He is also survived by his brother, Oscar Getman of Dadeville; sister, Viola Jones of Springfield; grandchildren, Monica Lund, Sam Getman, Kelsey Getman, Shelby Smith, Chevy Smith, Amy Gleason, Eric Lindsey, John Beck, Brad Davis, Jesse Davis, Bill Davis, McKenzie Getman, Paige Getman, Wyatt Getman and Alex Getman along with twenty-three great-grandchildren.
