Kenneth Murray, Sr. was born on October 13, 1936.
Kenneth Murray, Sr. was born on October 13, 1936 in Dayton Ohio to Perna & Ethel (Watkins) Murray. He was raised in Dayton by his Grandma Lamb after the deaths of his parents. Kenneth proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. On June 9, 1956, Kenneth married the love of his life, Sandra McGinnis in Dayton.
Kenneth worked in different occupations over his life and excelled at each of them. He worked several years for JC Penney designing and staging their window scenes and displays. He was a guard for the Dixie Drive-In which his children loved because they got to go with Kenneth and watch movies while he worked. He also gave of himself as a law enforcement officer in Butler and Randolph Counties in Ohio and as an auxiliary officer in Tipp City, OH.
Kenneth and Sandra moved to Missouri in 1988 from Ohio. They spent many years residing in Protem, MO. Kenneth enjoyed hunting and fishing and more than anything he loved being a grandpa and spending time with his grandchildren.
Kenneth entered into rest on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield at the age of 85.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sandra Murray; brothers Pete and Richard and sister Patty.
Kenneth is survived by his children, Sue Cantrell of Troy, OH, Diana Klemp (Randy) of Gardner, KS, Laura Murray of Harrisonville, MO and Kenny Murray, Jr. (Brandy) of Kissee Mills, MO. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Chuck Cantrell, Amanda Williams (Mike), Andrew Jones (Marbile), Candice Rawe (James), Tanner Coker, Aydin Murray and Bianca Murray; nine great-grandchildren, Alexis Rymer, Dakota Rymer, Nathan Cantrell, MaKayla Cole, Gracie Jones, Charli Rawe, Landon Windle, Matthew Jones and Andrew Michael Jones, Jr. and three great-great grandchildren, William Cantrell, Emma Cantrell and Railynn Radke.
A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held at Church 3:16 in Forsyth at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, November 1, 2021.
Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
