Larry R. Lewis, age 77, of Merriam Woods, Missouri

Larry R. Lewis, age 77, of Merriam Woods, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 7, 2024. He entered this life on July 9, 1946, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the son of JH and Juliana (Mayart) Lewis. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children, Jane Abrams; and grandson, Jace Cornelisse. He was joined in marriage to Ada Davis on April 18, 2017.

Proudly serving our country in the United States Navy, Larry was an active member in the Amvets Post 78 in Rockaway Beach, Missouri. He worked as a tire builder for Firestone and was an active union member in good standing for the local 310 for over thirty years, serving as an appointed safety representative. Larry enjoyed the good times hunting and fishing with friends. He loved sitting with friends sharing stories and political conversations over a cold beer. Larry adored his family and was a loving father and grandfather. The time spent creating memories will be cherished forever and never forgotten.

He is survived by his daughter, Juliana (Justin) Cornelisse of Des Moines, Iowa; son, Andrew (Suzy Foggia) Lewis of Des Moines, Iowa; two grandchildren: Jonah Cornelisse and Jenavieve Cornelisse; wife, Ada Lewis of Merriam Woods, Missouri; and two brothers: Reggie Lewis and Jack Lewis.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amvets Post 78 of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, 3434 State Hwy 176, Rockaway Beach, Missouri 65740.
