Linda Lee Harris

Linda Lee Harris, 70.

Linda Lee Harris, a vibrant and cherished member of the Holiday Island, Arkansas community, went to be with our Lord after a courageous battle against lung cancer on September 5, 2024, at the age of 70. Known for her vivacious personality, infectious laugh, radiant smile, and boundless energy, Linda’s zest for life illuminated everything she did.

She was born in Kansas City, Kansas, in 1953 to Claud and Vera Harris as the eldest of three children. Linda graduated from Washington High School and spent many years in the Kansas City area. She relocated to Naples, Florida, came back to Kansas City, then eventually moved to Nixa, Missouri, and later to Lake of the Ozarks.

After moving to Holiday Island a decade ago to be closer to her parents, Linda became a beloved part of the local community. She embraced activities, including weekly hikes with the Holiday Island Hikers, water aerobics at the pool, and stretching at the Barn ― pastimes that brought her much joy.

Her commitment extended to volunteering at the Flint Street Fellowship Food Pantry in Eureka Springs, where her enthusiasm and dedication to the Back Our Kids (“BOK”) program left a lasting impact on those she served.

Linda’s greatest joy, however, came from her deep bond with her daughter, Lauren, and her mother, Vera. Among her many achievements, Linda was proud to have won both the National Women’s Free Diving Championship and the National Women’s Scuba Skills Championship in 1988. She lived a colorful and adventurous life, with diverse careers ranging from blackjack dealer to dental hygienist. Linda was known for her love of bright colors, cooking meals for loved ones, and traveling to the beach every chance she got.

She will be remembered not only for her accomplishments but for her remarkable personality. Always on the go and full of humor, she was a gift to all who knew her.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Lauren; mother, Vera; sister, Phyllis; brother, Steve; nieces: Jamie and Emily; nephew, Coleton; as well as many relatives and dear friends, who will miss her deeply.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Flint Street Fellowship Pantry in her honor. Linda’s legacy of joy, love and passionate spirit will continue to touch the lives of all who knew her. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
