Lou Ellen Holmes, age 86, of Hollister, Missouri

Lou Ellen Holmes, 86, of Hollister passed away January 12, 2023. She was born August 11, 1936, to Amos and Bernice Ronk in Boone County, IN.

Lou Ellen graduated from North Salem High School in Indiana in 1954. She is the mother of three boys, Robert and Scott Stockton and Jeffrey Stover. She was married in 1974 to Bill Stover who passed away in 1995. After his passing, she found love once again and married Robert Holmes in 2002 and remained with him until his death in 2022. Lou Ellen had many different jobs including school bus driver, secretary, and when she moved to Missouri, she was the children’s minister at First Baptist Church of Hollister. She loved to tell Bible stories and teach the kids all about the hope in the Lord.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting all sorts of things that she would share with family and friends. More than anything, Lou Ellen loved her family and was always joyful when they were with her. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Lou Ellen will be forever remembered by her children, Bob Stockton, Scott (Evelyn) Stockton; step-daughter Donna Yeast; grandchildren, Risha Bates (David), Rachel Kozikowski (Steven), Candice Speer (Aaron), Casey Stover, Callie (Michael), Robert (Becca), and Carrie Latovich; 11 great-grandchildren; special friends, Betty Stoll, whom she considered a daughter; Nathan and Matthew Stoll, whom she counted as grandchildren; and many, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Lou Ellen was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey; and sisters, Freda Keller, Bertha Selanders, Phyllis Bergeron, and Marilyn Doreff.

Family will receive friends from 12:30 - 2:00pm Monday, January 16, 2023 at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, 1638 State Highway 76, Branson, MO 65616 with service to follow at 2:00pm Jeff Wilcox from First Baptist Church Branson will officiate. Burial will be in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
