Mark John Jackson was born September 4, 1959 in Dallas, Texas to Dennis Jackson and Morrell (Taylor) Jackson. He moved to Springfield, MO around age four and attended school in Springfield, graduating from Central High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy after high school. He served six years as a Boiler Technician, stationed on the USS Badger at Pearl Harbor, HI.
Mark lived several years in Nixa after returning home and had a variety of professional pursuits including serving as a plant manager in his family’s agricultural chemical business. In 2011, he moved to Cape Fair with his wife, Lana. He enjoyed working in property services for Wyndham Resorts and Silver Dollar City.
Mark loved the serenity and beauty of living along Table Rock Lake. He enjoyed fishing and being on the water. Mark had a great love for his family and was blessed by the closeness they shared. He also had a special friend he cherished time with, his beloved donkey, Brownie.
The Kansas City Chiefs were Mark’s team and he was a mega fan. He peacefully entered into rest after watching the game and their win on Sunday evening, September 22, 2024. His life will be celebrated at dusk before the Chief’s Monday night game on October 7, 2024. Graveside services will be at 6:00 pm in Cape Fair Cemetery with military honors rendered by the Veterans of the Ozarks and the United States Navy.
Mark will be deeply missed by his wife, Lana Mapes of Cape Fair; his daughters, Sara Jackson of Columbia, MO and Laura Jackson of Rogersville, MO; his son, Jeremiah Robb of Cape Fair and his step-mother, Linda Jackson of Springfield, MO. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Jackson and mother Morrell Jackson and one brother, David Jackson.

Cremation arrangements were in the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.
