Marvin Jerry Davis, born on March 21, 1943, in Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away leaving a legacy of hard work and dedication. He pursued business studies at UMKC before serving in the Navy for four years. Upon returning, Jerry made Kansas City his home, where he met and married his late wife, Deanna Sue Davis, with whom he shared 41 beautiful years.
A devoted professional, Jerry spent much of his career in construction, eventually becoming the owner of his own environmental service construction business. He later took on the role of a security contractor overseas for 12 years, showcasing his commitment and resilience. Once he finished his time overseas, Jerry and Deanna moved permanently to their second home overlooking Table Rock Lake, where they lived out their remaining years together.
Jerry was a very social and fun-loving man. He and his wife loved to frequent the jazz clubs in Kansas City and traveled around the country to watch their daughter play soccer, never missing a game. He was a dedicated caretaker, always putting his family first. Jerry was always helping those around him with the things they needed and took special care of his neighbors.
Jerry is survived by his two daughters, Lindsay Gonzales and Lisa Marie Davis, son-in-law Justin Gonzales, and his cherished grandchildren, Aspen Gonzales and Justus Davis. He is also survived by his three siblings, Patty Miller, Candy Timmons, and Hershel Davis. He is preceded in death by his wife Deanna Sue Davis, his father Marvin Davis and his mother Blanche Davis.
Jerry's memorial service will take place on February 6th in Chillicothe, Missouri, at 11:30 AM at St. Columban Catholic Church, followed by a naval burial and a reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Jerry will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic and the love he shared with his family and friends.
