Neva “Jean” Kelly, age 95, of Monett, Missouri passed away Friday, October 4, 2024 at CoxHealth Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri.
She was born August 17, 1929 in Carthage, Missouri the daughter of James and Irene (Wampler) Mevey. On August 22, 1948 in Carthage, Missouri she was united in marriage to Wilford Kelly, who preceded her in death on June 21, 2009. Also preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Benny and three sisters, Helen Mary and Dorothy.
Surviving are one son, James “Jim” Kelly and his wife Charree of Wheaton, Missouri; two daughters, Jan Bremer and her husband Bob of Monett, Missouri and Karen Merritt and her husband Larry of Monett, Missouri; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Jean grew up and attended school in Carthage, Missouri graduating from Carthage High School in 1947. She and Wilford moved to Wheaton, Missouri in 1954 where they began farming, raising crops and cattle. Jean enjoyed puzzles, and gardening and just being on their farm, but most of all she loved her grandchildren. She was a member of Wheaton Southern Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Wheaton Southern Baptist Church in Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert will conduct the services. Burial will be at Rocky Comfort Cemetery in Rocky Comfort, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time Tuesday at Wheaton Southern Baptist Church in Wheaton.
