Paula Harris

Paula Harris passed away on January 21, 2022, in her home in Hollister, Missouri.

Paula Harris passed away in the care of her loving husband, Harold Harris, on January 21, 2022, in their home in Hollister, Missouri. Paula was born on November 11, 1945, in Lawrence Kansas. She was a phenomenal wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who enjoyed spending time with those she cared deeply about. Paula was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Elizabeth, and her parents: Richard and Kathleen Henry.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Harold Harris; two children: Kristen Uzzell and her husband, Will of Hartville, Missouri, and Daren Harris and his wife Gail of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren: Chloe Uzzell, Lucas Cooper, Jasmin Harris, and Aiden Harris; two sisters: Marilynn Hunter and her wife Becky of Key West, Florida, and Margie Kraft of Sedalia, Missouri; niece, Jayme Hunter-Moss and nephew, Stuart Hunter, both of Indianapolis, Indiana; niece, Katie Kraft and nephew, McConnell ‘Mac’ Kraft, both of Sedalia, Missouri; and numerous other family members and friends.

Paula dedicated her work career serving in accounting and auditing roles at Zenith Corporation in Springfield, Missouri, and Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. She retired from Missouri State University in 2007 to begin a life of RV travel adventure on the road.

Paula and Harold, sweethearts since the age of twelve, traveled to numerous locations throughout the United States to visit lifelong friends, find new friends, stay in the sun, and enjoy another warm day. Their primary landing spots for winter months were either south Texas or southwest Florida where they got jiggy on the dance floor to their favorite tunes, kayaked the intercoastal waterways, rode bikes, shopped, walked into Mexico for food and fun, and had good times with the friends they made from all over the country. Known affectionately as “mammaw” by her grandchildren, she adored time with them and relished every moment they spent together. Mammaw made sure the annual summer vacation with the grandkids was a safe, fair, and fun-filled time for everybody.

Paula’s final resting place will be Evergreen Cemetery in Republic, Missouri. A graveside service will be conducted at a later date. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
